I started ValeGuard because a lot of small offices around Cape Breton run on computers nobody is really responsible for. There’s no IT person, so the job lands on whoever is willing.

That’s where I come in. Setting up new computers and accounts, sorting out Microsoft 365, getting backups working, fixing the things that slow your day down. The everyday IT work that keeps an office running.

I’m a Cyber Security graduate of NSCC’s Sydney Waterfront Campus, so security is built into how I do that work, not sold as an extra. I also offer cybersecurity awareness training for staff, which I developed after writing the content for the Cape Breton Regional Municipality’s training site.

Background

Cyber Security diploma, NSCC

Nova Scotia Community College, 2026. System security, threat detection, and incident response.

Security awareness content for CBRM

Wrote the content for the Cape Breton Regional Municipality’s staff cybersecurity awareness training site.

Hands-on security practice

A home lab where I test security tools and practice against real attack traffic.

Based in Cape Breton

On-site work covers Sydney and across the island, evenings and Saturdays. Remote support goes anywhere in Nova Scotia. Staff training is delivered through Microsoft 365, so it’s available anywhere in Canada.
